DAMP PROOFING
Rising damp occurs when water from the ground rises through porous building materials, like brick or stone, and appears as a damp patch that usually starts at the bottom of walls and can rise up to several feet. Unlike condensation, rising damp is not caused by moisture in the air, but by external moisture.
Penetrating damp is a type of dampness that occurs when water from outside a building infiltrates the walls, causing moisture to accumulate within the structure. The symptoms of penetrating damp include damp patches on walls or ceilings, peeling paint or wallpaper, mould growth, and a musty smell.
